Unique Appointment

We made history recently by appointing a woman into a key position normally associated with men. Our new Volkswagen Brand Manager is Irene Fairweather who has overall responsibility for all four Volkswagen outlets in the group at Inverness, Elgin, Fort William and Peterhead.
The appointment is a major coup in a traditionally male dominated world with Irene Scotland’s only Volkswagen Brand Manager and one of only two in the entire UK Volkswagen network. Irene has been with us for 33 years and knows our business and Volkswagen well. She has had a finger on the pulse of the company for many years and her appointment as Brand Manager was a natural choice.
“Being Volkswagen Brand Manager is a fantastic opportunity,” says Irene. “I’m lucky in having a superb staff and am very proud of them. Their loyalty and professionalism is vital to Hawco Volkswagen because that’s the face of the business our customers see. “Time and again customers tell us our staff are friendly and approachable and that’s one of our major assets. But we know we can’t be perfect all the time and want to know when we get it wrong. “So if something’s not right with our service, tell us.”
As Brand Manager Irene has to ensure all four branches follow both Hawco Group and Volkswagen standards and “sing from the same hymnbook”. “My priorities are to look after the staff and our customer base,” she said. “A happy staff means happy customers and that helps the business.”
